Description:

The reverse of the bronze commemorates the British victory during the Battle of the Glorious First of June; it pictures a god-like character, Neptune, standing on the sea with a trident in his left hand and his right arm extended. He rides on a marine cart which consists of two horses with fish tails and fins. Surrounding the scene are the inscriptions “FRENCH FLEET DEFEATED OFF USHANT,” “VII SAIL OF THE LINE CAPTURED 1 JUNE MDCCXCIV,” W.WYON.F.” and “MUDIE.D.”
